Steve McRobbie has 30 years’ experience as a professional exploration and project director on gold, base metals, diamond and uranium projects, and has held senior management roles and directorships in Africa, Western Europe and the CIS having worked on a number of high-profile mine development projects in Central Asia and Russia. As Geology Manager for Kazakhmys Projects, Mr McRobbie was a key leader in the evaluation team which took the Bozshakol and Aktogay Copper Porphyry Deposits in Kazakhstan through Feasibility Studies and into development. As Exploration Manager for KAZ Minerals Projects he was involved in the purchase and subsequent evaluation of Koksay Copper Porphyry in Kazakhstan to PFS level, and also part of the Due Diligence team integral to the sale and purchase of Baimskaya Copper-Gold Complex in Chukotka, Russia, which includes Peschanka. He is not afraid to reassess and challenge preconceived views and bring fresh ideas, looking to add value to projects. Recently he was Regional Director for the CIS heading the business for an international UK-based mining consultancy. Mr McRobbie holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, an MSc in Mining Geology from the Camborne School of Mines and is a Competent Person as defined by the JORC code (2012). He is responsible for driving the exploration strategy for all companies across the IG Global Group.
