Mr. Bowens is the founder of IG Global Group, a private mineral exploration group since 2010. Prior to this, he worked in Mongolia with Harrods Minerals, Ivanhoe and later Lundin Mining; he then moved to Russia as Vice President of Exploration and Chief of Operations for Fortress Minerals Corporation where he led the Svetloye project exploration that led to a sale of the deposit to Polymetal. He later established IG Copper LLC and successfully organized a management buyout of Fortress for their 51% in the Malmyzh Copper Gold Project where Freeport McMoran was the 49% non-operating partner and made the significant discovery of a district scale porphyry copper-gold project, Malmyzh, (12.5B lbs Cu and 9.1M oz Au) (5.016Mt Cu 278 t Au) which he, along with the IG team, took from a grass roots discovery in 2010 to a divestment of the asset for $200M in 2018, Tom then turned his sights to the East Tintic District of Utah, an historic mining district for decades overlooked and underexplored, where the IG team made a spectacular discovery of a new high-grade ore shoot in the Trixie Mine, one of 23 past producing mines in the district. The IG team, led by Tom Bowens, took this from the opening of a new exposure of high-grade mineralization on the T2 structure in underground workings, in 2020, to production, in 2021, to a sale of the asset to Osisko Development for $177MM in 2022. In 2021, IG Lithium USA was established to acquire a lithium brine project in the western United States that is currently being developed with a partner. Mr. Bowens began operating in Kazakhstan in 2021, forming IG Asia for the development of early stage assets in Copper, Gold, and Lithium, as well as mining and drilling services.
